What do I need to know?

1. We are updating the adminstrative tools our staff uses to run the daily operations of our church. 

 

2. We are adding more ways to communicate and connect as a church, all while leaving current methods in place (you'll still get your weekly eNews!). If you're not receiving eNews currently click HERE to sign up!

 

3. You determine how much you want to make this part of your experience with our church, but we encourage you to participate.

What is Realm?

Realm is a real ministry tool!

Realm is an online ministry tool designed for real time connection. It helps our church connect with you and you connect with us.  If you consider yourself part of this church family, you'll love it.  Realm allows you to manage your personal information and who is allowed to see it, control your giving, and keep in touch with the groups that matter to you!

What can Realm really do

for me?

I'm a ...

  • Check in your child for VB Kidz on Sunday morning at the kiosk or with the Connect app.

  • Update your child's profile with allergy information.

  • Control your child's profile and information privacy in the online directory.

  • Mark attendance at your small group meetings.

  • Chat with your group's members about what's going on in each other's lives.

  • Schedule meetings and other events for your group—potluck anyone?

  • Look up serving teams and opportunities tailored to your skills and interests.

  • Set scheduling preferences so your team leader knows exactly when you can serve.

  • Check your schedule and swap assignments with teammates.

I'm in! Now how do I ...

Update my Profile

Browser:

  1. Click your name and photo icon in the top-right corner, then click “My Profile” in the dropdown. 

  2. To update your contact and personal information, click the blue “Edit Profile” button under your photo and name, edit your info accordingly, then click the blue “Save” button at the top. 

  3. To change who can see different parts of your profile, click the blue "Manage Privacy" button under your photo and name. 

  4. You can set all of your contact and personal information to only be viewed by certain people, or you can customize the privacy settings for different parts of your profile. 

  5. Click the blue "Save" button in the bottom right corner when you're done making changes. 

 

App:

Android: Tap the menu icon in the top-left corner, then scroll down the sidebar menu and tap “Profile.”
 

Apple: Tap your photo icon in the top-left corner. 

  1. Tap the pencil icon in the top right corner.

  2. Each profile field will have a dropdown immediately under it where you can change the privacy settings for that respective field ("Visible by..."). Tap on those to change the privacy option accordingly. 

  3. Tap "SAVE" in the top right corner when you're done making changes. 

Register for an Event

Browser:

  1. Click “Events” in the left sidebar. 

  2. Click the name of the event for which you wish to register.

    1. If you don’t see the event you want in the “Upcoming Events” list, check the “All Events” tab at the top! 

  3. Click the “Register” button, which will also list the registration deadline. 

  4. On the right-hand side check the box for each person in your household who will be attending the event, then click “Next.”

    1. If you’d like to register a friend who is not part of your household, click “+ Add another registrant” and enter their name. 

  5. Fill out the form for each person attending, including any custom questions set up by the event organizer. Then click the blue “Next: Review” button on the right.

    1. Required questions will be marked with a red asterisk (*). 

  6. You can review the registration details for each person on the final review screen.

    1. If you wish to change anything, click “Edit Details” to automatically go to that person’s registration form.

    2. If you are registering for a paid event, this will also be where you will enter your payment details.

      1. If you are already giving online, you will be able to select from any saved payment methods.

      2. If you do not have any saved payment methods, click “+ Add New Payment Method” and enter your payment details. 

  7. Click the blue “Register” button on the right when you’re ready to complete your registration. 

 

App: 

Android: Tap the menu icon in the top-left corner, then tap “Events” in the sidebar menu.
 

Apple: Tap “Events” in the bottom menu bar. 

  1. Tap the event for which you wish to register.

    1. If you don’t see the event you want in the “Upcoming Events” list, check the “All Events” tab at the top! 

  2. Tap the “Register” button, which will also list the registration deadline. 

  3. Check the box for each person in your household who will be attending the event, then tap “Next.”

Give to the Church

Browser:

We’ve made giving online from your computer simple and easy right here on vbumc.org! 

  1. Go to our Give page and click the “Give Now” button to open the online giving form. 

  2. Select from the three offered funds or designate a different fund in the memo field. You can also split your gift between different funds! 

  3. Choose whether this gift should be one-time or recurring, enter your email, then click “Continue.” 

  4. Enter your payment details and click the “Give” button to complete your online gift!

    1. You can click “Sign In” in the top-right corner of that form to access saved payment information. 

App:

Android: Tap the menu icon in the top-left corner, then tap “Giving” in the sidebar menu.
 

Apple: Tap “Giving” in the bottom menu bar. 

  1. Select from the three offered funds or designate a different fund in the memo field. You can also split your gift between different funds!

Join a Group

Browser:

  1. Click “Groups” in the left sidebar.

  3. Click the group category you’d like to explore. 

  4. Click the name of the group in which you’re interested. You’ll be taken to the group’s info page where you can read a description of the group and view their meeting time and location if such details are available. 

  5. If you think this might be the group for you, click the blue “Join” button at the top, then click “Send Request” in the pop-up! 

  6. The group leader will receive a notification regarding your interest and will contact you to start a conversation! 

 

App:

Sign Up to Volunteer

Browser: 

  1. Click “Serving” in the left sidebar. 

  2. Click “Browse Serving Opportunities” or the “Opportunities” tab at the top. 

  3. You can choose to browse by Role or Team:

    1. Browse by Role if you have a specific way in mind for how you want to volunteer.

    2. Browse by Team if you are interested in helping in a certain ministry and are flexible with what is needed. 

  4. Click the role or team you would like to join. 

  5. Check the boxes for any volunteer opportunities you’re willing to join, enter an optional message about your interest if you wish, then click the blue “Submit Your Interest” button. 

  6. The team leader will receive a notification regarding your interest and will contact you to start a conversation! 

 

App:
